Cropsy Operator Guide

To enable the Global Command Center's authentication and data synchronization, follow these steps:

Step A: Create a Firebase Project

  1. Go to the Firebase Console.
  2. Click "Add project" and follow the prompts (no Google Analytics required for basic setup).

Step B: Register a Web App

  1. In your Firebase project dashboard, click the Web icon (</>).
  2. Give your app a nickname (e.g., "Cropsy-Global") and click "Register app".
  3. You will see a firebaseConfig object. Keep this open!

Step C: Configure Environment Variables

  1. Open the .env file in your Firebase Studio editor.
  2. Map the values from the firebaseConfig object to the variables in the file (e.g., apiKey becomes NEXT_PUBLIC_FIREBASE_API_KEY).

Step D: Enable Google Authentication

  1. In the Firebase sidebar, go to Authentication.
  2. Click the "Sign-in method" tab.
  3. Click "Add new provider" and select Google.
  4. Enable it, choose a support email, and click Save.
  5. Note: Ensure http://localhost:9002 is added to the "Authorized domains" list at the bottom of the Sign-in method page.

Initialize Your Network

Navigate to Asset Management from the dashboard. Here you can establish your primary operational node by providing the facility name, type, and total capacity.
